As Lisa (Frida) puts it, "It's not just a case of singing the songs. You almost have to become Abba. Every line of every song, every nuance of each verse and chorus is ingrained in the audience conscious and we don't have any margin for error. I think that makes us nervous and puts us all on our toes before a show. It's a good way to summon up the energy to deliver a great performance" And it shows. There was no let up through the set. Classic after classic was delivered with stunning accuracy and passion. Vicky, otherwise known as Agneata on stage is a true self proclaimed Abba fan. For her, performing with Abba Revival is literally a dream come true. "I have been listening to Abba for as long as I can remember and used to act out dance routines and songs with my friends. And the great thing is the band are all passionate about the music too and we love performing. I think that comes across and the audience gets a real buzz from it. I've seen tribute acts that simply go through the motions but with us, you get the real deal. We love what we do and hope that it shows. We get such a kick when the audience is singing and dancing along!". So while Abba Revival are thanking Abba for the music and winding up the show, you could be forgiven in thinking the crowd had just witnessed a miracle, such is their applause, admiration and even adulation. They expected kitsch and camp. They may have hoped for a decent song or two. What they got, and were blown away by, was so much more. A damn fine band putting on a damn fine performance. The Swedes would be proud.
