It’s the gastro-pub they’re all talking about...
the new look Cross Scythes

Since it’s comprehensive refurbishment, the Cross Scythes in Totley has gone from strength to strength, nominated as a top three finalist in the Sheffield
‘Restaurant of the Year’ Awards in the Best Pub Food category; attaining a four-star rating from the AA; and currently on the shortlist for ‘Best Leased Pub’ for the region of Yorkshire and the North East of England, with judging soon to be confirmed.

Operated by restaurateurs Stuart Hitchman and Alan Rigby with the support of local businessmen David and Andrew Ford, the focus is on simple food cooked to a high
standard complemented by an expertly selected wine list and well-kept beer cellar, all to be enjoyed in a refined and sophisticated environment.

With a burgeoning reputation in the immediate area, the central philosophy is to create a community hub, playing host to all manner of celebrations such as birthdays and
christenings; distinguished by a dedication to creating a bespoke experience tailored to suit the requirements of the individual.

This society-minded approach is fostered by the dedication to training and development of locally recruited staff. The food is created from first principles wherever possible; breads, pastry and desserts made by hand, a philosophy which engenders a sense of pride and dedication in the team; which has in turn created an environment in which the local colleges are happy to place apprentices for work-based tuition.

The Cross Scythes is easily accessible from Sheffield or Derbyshire, located on the A621 with a large, easily accessible car park and bedrooms available at £50 per night. Food is served throughout the day, opening for breakfast cakes and coffee from 8.30 am. To book a table in the restaurant, reserve a hotel room, or make any other enquiries please phone, email or just drop by.
