"Originally influenced by the folk music at my mums folk club in Rochdale where I grew up, and did my first solo performance aged about 9 (I believe I strummed my way badly through James Taylors 'You've got a friend'). These days I like listening to all kinds of stuff, Sheryl Crow, Texas, KT Tunstall, Kieran Halpin, Eddi Reader, Show of Hands, Julian Jones..... anyone who writes great lyrics and has too much soul!!"
