FORTY YEARS WITHOUT A PROPER JOB: MICHAEL PALIN IN CONVERSATION Crucible Theatre Monday 19 February 2007 Actor, author, intrepid explorer – Sheffield’s favourite son returns to the city for an evening of anecdotes and insights into a brilliant and eclectic career. As one of the five illustrious members of the irrepressible Monty Python, Michael Palin has earned a well-deserved place in the pantheon of great British comedy. His impressive acting career stretches far beyond the seminal TV show that made him a household name, including acclaimed performances in Brazil, A Fish Called Wanda and Alan Bleasdale’s G.B.H. Yet it is his award-winning travelogues for television that have captured the nation’s imagination, with globe-trotting adventures including Around the World in 80 Days, Pole to Pole and Himalaya. Most recently Michael has published his best-selling diaries chronicling the early part of his career. In this unmissable evening, Michael will be interviewed about his life and work by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director, Samuel West.
