FORTY YEARS WITHOUT A PROPER JOB:
MICHAEL PALIN IN CONVERSATION

Crucible Theatre

Monday 19 February 2007

Actor, author, intrepid explorer – Sheffield’s favourite son returns to the city for an evening of anecdotes and insights into a brilliant and eclectic career.

As one of the five illustrious members of the irrepressible Monty Python, Michael Palin has earned a well-deserved place in the pantheon of great British comedy. His impressive acting career stretches far beyond the seminal TV show that made him a household name, including acclaimed performances in Brazil, A Fish Called Wanda and Alan Bleasdale’s G.B.H. Yet it is his award-winning travelogues for television that have captured the nation’s imagination, with globe-trotting adventures including Around the World in 80 Days, Pole to Pole and Himalaya. Most recently Michael has published his best-selling diaries chronicling the early part of his career.

In this unmissable evening, Michael will be interviewed about his life and work by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director, Samuel West.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Sheffield Theatres Capital Redevelopment Campaign.
