Description

Born in Sheffield – son of a popular local singer called Lee Jackson who graced the stage of many northern clubs during the 1950’s – 1970’s, with his brother, Don who was the other half of the duo ‘Don and Lee Jackson’. They retired from the club scene in the mid seventies.
Phil was the only one of five children who followed in his Father’s footsteps. His first experience was as a nine year old singing with the choir at the Darnall Baptist Church. Always wanting to be the ‘centre of attention’ he was a naturally at ease on stage, in front of an audience. It came as no surprise to anyone who knew him that he would someday become a professional singer/entertainer. In March 1990 Phil ‘burst’ onto the scene.
He has a natural ability to deliver ‘swing’, obviously due to his father’s influence and the fact that the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin etc., was continually played in the family household! He honed his craft on the northern club circuit, picking up awards along the way. He has won through to the finals of many major UK talent shows.
Nowadays he is an accomplished, stylish and powerful vocalist. He has developed a sound and style of his own owing nothing to imitation. A voice full of virile vigour which is also eminently capable of great perceptive feeling for the more romantic ballads.
He has featured on his local radio Sheffield, and recorded the Sinatra hit ‘You Make Me Feel So Young’ at Yorkshire Televisions’ Leeds studio for a scene in a popular TV hospital drama series, and he was filmed performing the number with his band on location in Scarborough.
He now works in Cabaret, Corporate and work abroad, whilst keeping his feet firmly on the ground with constant re- bookings from his club base. He has completed tours all around the world which includes the UK, touring the Midlands, North East, South Wales, and abroad touring The Netherlands, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Las Vegas.
His vocal talents range from Andrew Lloyd Webber show standards to chart material ranging from the 50’s right up to the present day, covering most of the contemporary male vocalists.
Phil is a very polished and natural performer, He can perform solo or with his own first class line up of musicians with musical arrangements for bands from three piece to big band 18 piece.
