Description Please if you visit this venue tell them you found it on South Yorkshire Entertainment.com The Red Lion, New Whittington You will receive a lovely traditional Derbyshire warm welcome from Maureen and her staff when you visit the Red Lion on Whittington Moor at Chesterfield.  Voted Pub of the Season in the summer of 2006 in the Good Beer Guide, this venue is a provider of wonderful traditional beer. You will find live music on Saturdays and bank holiday Sundays.  Also check out the events page for details of regular special events, such as Race Nights, Clairvoyant evenings and various charity fund raisers.  The two main charities supported by The Red Lion are the ever deserving Edale Mountain Rescue and Chesterfield RSPCA. Outside is a good sized beer garded and smoking area.  Children welcome in this friendly local community pub. There is live sports shown on Sky TV, plus traditional darts, fruit machines and a juke box. Friday night is a must for quiz goers where a free supper and beer vouchers are awarded to the winners.  Also there is a chance ot take part in the Lucky 7 Jackpot with a prize fund of up to £250.
