The Robin Hoare Band formed in 2002 and play a funk and soul influenced set incorporating original songs and their interpretations of songs from artists ranging from Albert King and Bill Withers to classic Peter Green.

The band have made successful appearances at festivals including the Great British R&B festival, and The National Blues Festival, Burnley, and are a regular draw at Sheffield's Philadelphia Blues Festival. The band also features Robin's songwriting partner Peter Kenyon on bass guitar and Joe Freegard on drums. Robin also works in duos and as a solo act.

Robin's personal style is a melting pot of influences including songwriters like Larry Garner, Eric Bibb and Richard Thompson, and blues artists including Albert Collins, Jimmy Vaughan, Sue Foley and BB King. He also takes inspiration from jazz musicians like Grant Green and classic organ trios such as Jimmy McGriff.

Robin has been a professional musician since 1995. He has worked in many bands and has played alongside Hugh Mesekela, Peter Fairclough and Paul Ewing amongst others. He is one of Sheffield's best established guitar teachers, covering a variety of styles individually and in schools and colleges.
