Storm Bringer is a four-piece rock band specialising in the live recreation of the sound and feel of some of the greatest classic rock tracks ever written.
Main influences have been the music of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top and Pink Floyd.
Formerly known as the
Non-Stop Walter Band
(v. long story), the original line-up included Ratty, Dave & Chris but with Barry on drums. After three years Barry left to follow other pursuits and Steve took over on the drums. Two years later and Steve left to join Spanner and Trev in Renegade (the clubland version of the Brown Bottle Band). It was at this point that Gordon joined the band as the new drummer - at which point the band changed its name to
Buzztop
and began specialising in ZZ Top material.
Storm Bringer
came about after they found out they all had a passion about some Deep Purple songs they had been messing about with at rehearsals. Armed with boundless enthusiasm, they invested heavily in rehearsal time, tight trousers, throat lozenges, new PA and lighting equipment (with Steve coming on board as sound and lighting engineer) to do justice to the show.
