Four-piece Rock/Blues/Soul covers Band from Sheffield:

KAREN GILMORE - VOCALS
Karen Gilmore has years of experience in the entertainment business, travelling countrywide as both a solo act and with various band line-ups and performing to a 1000+ audience to an intimate setting in the corner of a room! She maintains that despite what sometimes feels like an endless apprenticeship, will quote the words of her vocal tutor "there is always room for improvement"!

She is currently depping for various agencies as well as the lead vocal for Swansong, so life on the road is busy.

WAYNE BENNETT - LEAD GUITAR
Wayne Bennett has been playing the guitar for last fifteen years in in various bands and as a solo act, playing in most major venues throughout South Yorkshire. During this time, he played guitar for a band called DB5 for four years and also had three successful years with a Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band called 'Red Hot Chili Powder'. Following this and various bands later, In 2002, he joined an outfit called The Futurists from Sheffield/New Zealand which is an ongoing project.
Apart from working with The Futurists and being the man who gives Swansong its 'unique' sound, he writes and records contemporary pieces of music for short films and has had success with this and has this year been offered a recording contract.

JOHNATHON EVERS - DRUMS
Jonathan ('Johnny') is an all round musician, playing keys and guitar and of course, drums. He is a vocalist too with excellent harmonising abilities. Jonathan has played with SWANSONG before, spending a brief period on keyboard as a fifth member, but this didn't work out. He was obviously misplaced in the band and has now found the right slot!

He also plays various instruments with an acoustic three piece called Florin (double bass, guitar, mandolin, vocal) - seen here on bongos! More information later....

Over the last few weeks this guy has become the drummer we were always searching for and has progressed beyond words!.

NIGEL SMITH - BASS GUITAR
Nigel started playing bass and acoustic guitar in pubs and clubs in the early 1970s. After a break he began playing again in 1990, writing and composing his own material and following this, First Fall was formed (acoustic guitar and Karen Gilmore on vocals). He then joined Blues 'n Graized until 2002. Various band involvements followed, including The Karen Gilmore Band, until he joined Willie Brown's Rhythm Method for a couple of years who have since disbanded.

Nigel is a very talented singer/songwriter who is yet to realise his full potential. However, there is talk of Swansong taking on some new material which is where Nigel will come into his own!

Nigel is essentially the 'rock' of the outfit, as well as his role as the bass player, he also takes the reigns of the bands' lighting and sound control.
