A REAL LOCALS BAR AND THE BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE AROUND!!!

The Travellers Rest (Formerly known as the Corner Pin) is a wonderfully preserved traditional country pub situated on the corner of High Street and Moor Top Road at Apperknowle. It offers 5 real ales, including 3 guest ales at any one time, and is home to some of the best regular live music around. You can be sure of a warm welcome from hosts, Dave and Arlene Taylor.

Monday is the night for jazz and swing, whatever your thing! Ever popular jazz band, New Orleans Strollers play the last Monday of every month, with Swingamathing - "the small band with a BIG SOUND" playing the second Monday of the month.
Legendary Irish Folk singer JJ Galway can be seen on the last Friday of each month at 5.00 pm.
Sunday night is Acoustic Night where 'Anything Goes (and usually does!).

All of the above, mixed with a great ambiance, makes this pub a real favourite with locals, walkers (and their dogs!), families, music lovers and anyone inbetween.

The Lounge has a wonderful open fireplace and oak beams, and is reputed to be haunted by a local Lady Charlotte Amiss, who played the drums whilst customers sang and watched her dog dance for pennies.

Offshot to the lounge is the pool room and darts board, and is one of the few venues where dominoes is a popular afternoon pastime for the locals. As well as offering live entertainment, there is a great juke box, Quiz and Fruit machines.

Tuesday is the popular music quiz night hosted by well known former Peak FM presenter, Richard Spinks, together with a game of Bingo, Open the Box and Play Your Cards Right. A jackpot prize is available plus other prizes galore.

Thursday night is Jam night.
