Treebeard were formed by Haze & World Turtle brothers Chris & Paul McMahon plus Paul Chisnell (Haze, Three Legged Cat, Old Pekuliar), Gordon Walker (Ant Hill Mob & guest on World Turtle's 'Wilderness of Eden') and Chris Jellis (Old Pekuliar).

The band play
Haze & World Turtle originals as well as a selection of rock, pop, folk (& even country!) songs in their own inimitable way.

Originally called Acoustic Haze, the band changed their name to Treebeard, after the character in Lord of the Rings, to avoid confusion with Haze.

The band describe their style as 'Heavy Wood', a concept stolen from the Nottingham 80's duo Twice Bitten, who supported Haze as well as many of the other progressive rock bands, playing their own distinct style of electric/acoustic music.

Treebeard released their debut CD 'Heavy Wood' on Gabadon Records in 2002 and are currently working on the follow-up CD.

They have recently been joined by sixth member Ceri Ashton, from
Hiraeth and Derwenna, who plays flute & viola, and fiddle on concerts when Gordon is unavailable.

Ceri also plays in
The Outlandish Knights along with sister Cat and Chris, Paul & Paul of Treebeard & Haze.
